After 12 years of guiding for LOW resorts and listening to people on what they wanted out of there fishing trips I decided to try something new.

The normal routine on LOW is to set your houses in the same area year after year, sometimes the fish are there and sometimes not. Well what about going to where you know the fish are. Most years you do catch some fish on the south shore or out on the mud later on and you cant beat the December bite down south at least not for eater fish.

What do you consider a good day? 5-6 fish per day per person? Most outfits will tell you that this is a good average day. Matter of fact I’ll tell you a little insider trade standard, if folks are averaging 4 bucket fish per person per regardless of any thing else caught this is acceptable and there not going anywhere. On a 2 day package you got your LIMIT! Smile, say you filled and send you down the road with a robust come again. Those of you with some years of LOW trips know exactly what I’m talking about. But when the fish are down south OH MY MOTHER OF PEARLS. To bad they only come down hard 2-3 years out 10. DO YOU SIT IN THE BOAT ON THE SOUTH SHORE ALL SUMMER?

NO and at FORDS we don’t do it in the winter either. We go with the fish, wherever that may be. I made awesome clientele at Ballards Resort by bait fishing the reefs and knowing the North end of the lake well, and now we’re going to do it in the winter.
